The Corinthian admiral who resists Themistocles at Artemisium and later clashes with him verbally at the Salamis council.
When Eurybiades had been won over in this way, none of the rest was inclined to resist save Adimantus, son of Ocytus, the Corinthian admiral, who said that he would not remain but sail away from Artemisium;
While he was speaking, the Corinthian general Adeimantus son of Ocytus said, “Themistocles, at the games those who start before the signal are beaten with rods.
” With that he sent three talents of silver to Adimantus ship.
