Legendary thousand-armed king of the Haihayas at Māhiṣmatī; defeats Rāvaṇa in single combat and takes him captive.
Having terrified the rākṣasas, Kārtavīrya Arjuna then, taking Rāvaṇa captive, entered his city surrounded by his friends.
