Atharvaveda (Paippalāda)
Creator/ordainer god invoked for prosperity and in the studentship-initiation rite.
Dhātar has grasped your hand, Savitṛ has grasped your hand;
May Dhātṛ bestow fat upon me, may Pūṣan bestow fat, may Indra bestow fat on me;
As waters flow downhill, as months pass day by day into old age, so, O Dhātar, may brahmacharins come to me always.
Sāmaveda
The ordainer-deity named as a source of the Rathantara chant.
He whose name is Pratha and Sapratha — the offering of the Anuṣṭubh hymn, which is an oblation — from Dhātar shining bright and from Savitṛ and Viṣṇu, Vasiṣṭha brought forth the Rathantara chant.
