    The defendant in the suit, a shipowner who together with his partner Parmeniscus borrowed three thousand drachmae from the speaker and Pamphilus on the security of his ship, then diverted the vessel to Rhodes and Egypt in breach of the loan agreement and has withheld repayment for two years.

    In the first place, when he says that the ship was disabled, I think it is plain to you all that he is lying.
