    In the *Hemādri* and *Madanaratna*, however, it is said that in the case of a fast, where a *tithi* conjoined with the previous one is prohibited, as Dvitīyā conjoined with Pratipad, there, if the Dvitīyā, though conjoined with a Pratipad of less than three *muhūrtas*, is present on the next day even for less than three *muhūrtas*, then the next day is to be chosen.
