Stromata
Valentinian exegete who explains the Gospel passage on confession, distinguishing confession in voice from confession in deed; his interpretation is then qualified by Clement.
Thus far Heracleon;
But those alone confess in Him who live in the confession and deed according to Him, in whom He too confesses, being clasped by them and held by them.
Heracleon, the most esteemed of the school of Valentinus, explaining this passage, says, word for word, that confession is of two kinds—the one in faith and conduct, the other in voice.
Adversus Valentinianos
A Valentinian teacher who developed his own variant of the doctrine
Heracleon too drew certain by-paths from it, and Secundus, and the magician Marcus.
