Daśaratha's queen who invokes a previously granted boon to have Rāma exiled and her son Bharata crowned instead.
But seeing the preparations for his consecration, his wife Kaikeyī — the queen to whom a boon had previously been granted — asked him for this boon:
The quarrel between Rāma and Rāma, the virtues of Daśaratha's son, the intended consecration of Rāma, and the wicked intent of Kaikeyī —
To Kaikeyī was born one named Bharata, true in valour — a direct fourth part of Viṣṇu, praised for all his virtues.
