Kṛṣṇa

May that flute-bearer, who delights in dallying with Rādhā, grant you abundant and lasting well-being—He who causes the fall of the lofty family-crests of the enemies of the gods, chief among them Kaṃsa, who destroy the world;

Some say it is the Aṣṭamī related to the Kṛṣṇāṣṭamī vow to Rudra, famous in the *Vrataprakāśa*, or Janmāṣṭamī.

Here, the word Jayantī means Janmāṣṭamī alone, because the *pāraṇa* is prescribed at the end of the *tithi* alone.

This Kṛṣṇa calls to you both, O Aśvins, O lords of fleet steeds, for the drinking of the sweet soma.

Hear the call of the worshipper Kṛṣṇa as he praises, O heroes, for the drinking of the sweet soma.

The bright one swelled out the udder for Kṛṣṇa;
