Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa
A mountain, personified as the son of the Himalaya sheltered in the sea by Vāyu, who rises to offer Hanūmān rest and is later granted a boon by Indra.
Golden-peaked Maināka, hearing this from the salt sea, quickly sprang up from the water, together with great trees and creepers.
O Maināka of the great golden peak, attended upon by gods and Gandharvas, once Hanūmān has rested upon you he shall then proceed for the remainder of the way.
"You have rendered very great assistance to the valiant Hanūmān as he strides his hundred yojanas, offering fearlessness where danger existed.
