Who Is the Rich Man That Shall Be Saved?
A woman in the Gospel narrative who is troubled and distracted by serving, contrasted with her sister Mary.
Such a thing the Saviour also said to Martha, who was busy about many things and was distracted and troubled with serving, and was blaming her sister because, leaving the service, she sat at His feet, keeping a disciple's leisure:
Adversus Praxean
Sister of Lazarus who confesses Jesus as the Son of God.
But after this, Martha, confessing him the Son of God, erred no more than Peter and Nathanael — although, even had she erred, she would at once have learned.
De Carne Christi
A woman frequently in Christ's company, cited in contrast to the unbelief of his mother and brothers.
His mother likewise is not shown to have clung to him, while Martha and Mary and other women are frequently in his company.
