An ancient king of the Ikṣvāku lineage who excavated the ocean and had sixty thousand sons.
Among them was Sagara by name — he by whom the ocean was excavated, whose sixty thousand sons encircled him as he journeyed.
O sons, each of you traverse one yojana in extent.
Therefore go and search, O dear sons -- may it be well with you.
