Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa
Rāma's wife, who follows him into exile, is abducted by Rāvaṇa, found by Hanumān in Laṅkā, and finally reunited with Rāma.
That sorcerer, having lured both princes far away, abducted the wife of Rāma, slaying the vulture Jaṭāyus.
Arriving at Laṅkā, the city ruled by Rāvaṇa, he saw Sītā there, lost in thought, situated in the Aśoka grove.
Having presented the token of recognition, reported all tidings, and consoled the Vaidehī, he demolished the gateway.
