Kātyāyana Smṛti
An idealized disciplined wife who serves the sacred fire and, if widowed, remains celibate, thereby attaining heavenly reward comparable to Arundhatī.
By her intelligence and service alone, a woman attains all her desires.
The virtuous woman who, after her husband's death, remains established in celibacy, she, with conduct like Arundhatī's, is glorified in the world of Brahmā.
A wife who is not separated from her husband, being disciplined, should serve the sacred fire, desiring good fortune, the state of non-widowhood, and being devoted to her husband.
