Risālah fī ʻilm al-akhlāq
The ʻabd of God, whose worldly prosperity or deprivation is read as a sign of divine love or hatred.
Know that when I love a servant I withdraw this world from him, set him to work for the hereafter, and show him the defects of this world so that he guards against it and works the work of the people of the Garden, through My mercy toward him;
