The Sadānvāḥ, a numerous class of malevolent she-demons individually named and repeatedly cursed, exorcised, and destroyed across a long hymn sequence for threatening the sick, sleeping, children, and food.
Karṇa, Dṛṣadrathāmahā, Urukī, Keśinī, Kraku, Khaḍurī, Ambarīṣyā — we destroy these Sadānvāḥ she-demons.
Those who roam when storm-clouds rise, along with rain and lightning, who quickly seek out dwellings — all of you ill-named ones together with your offspring, we destroy, O Sadānvāḥ.
You who lick inside the pot, O ill-looking seeker of misplaced things — O Uruṇḍa, O Abhicaṅkrama, O Vakmaka, O Bastavāsini — we know all your names together, O she-demons.
