The Histories
The band of seven leading Persians, including Otanes, Darius, and Gobryas, who conspire together to kill the false Smerdis and his brother.
The seven Persians, when they had decided to attack the Magi at once and not delay, prayed to the gods and set forth, knowing nothing of what had happened to Prexaspes.
And seeing this all seven consented to Darius ' opinion, and went on to the palace, encouraged by the birds.
and while they were questioning these, they were threatening the watchmen for letting them pass, and restraining the seven who wanted to go on.
