Composition, tarkīb, understood strictly: a composite is destroyed by the loss of any part, needs the adjunction of its parts, and adds nothing to them but a configuration that exists only as a consideration. Its denial in God is what forces the attributes to be identical with the divine essence.

for as soon as any part of the absolute essence or of its qualification is left out of account, the composite is annihilated, since a whole is annihilated by the annihilation of any of its parts.
