Adversus Marcionem
The attribute of mercy, argued to belong properly to the Creator through numerous scriptural examples.
Likewise, if a father can be called the father of no God more than of the Creator, yet the Father of mercies will be the same who has been called merciful and compassionate and most rich in mercy.
De Pudicitia
God's mercy, said to prefer the sinner's penitence over the sinner's death.
But it is unworthy of God and of his mercy, which prefers the penitence of the sinner to his death, that those should return more easily into the Church who fell by yielding than those who fell by fighting.
