Viṣṇu Smṛti
A set of graded expiations for various categories of illicit sexual intercourse committed by twice-born men and by women.
And for intercourse with a beast or a prostitute, the *prājāpatya* penance.
Now, for illicit intercourse, wearing a garment of bark in the forest for a year, he shall perform the *prājāpatya* penance according to the rule of the *mahāvrata*.
And a woman who has sinned once shall perform that same vow which is prescribed for a man for intercourse with another's wife.
