Kitāb madhāhib al-Aʻrāb wa-falāsifat al-Islām fī al-jinn
Evidentiary miracle, both the warrant of prophetic report and the only licence for seeing a jinn.
But since the messengers, whose truthfulness God, mighty and majestic, attested by what He brought forth at their hands of nature-overturning miracles, informed us, by God's explicit statement, mighty and majestic, of the existence of the jinn in the world, knowledge of their creation and their existence became necessary of necessity.
Risālat al-Wāridāt
Muʻjizah, the custom-breaking event proceeding from God at the hand of one claiming prophecy and conforming to his claim, which authenticates the prophetic report; the same formula, without the prophetic claim, defines the karāmah of a saint.
The miracle is the custom-breaking event issuing from God Most High at the hand of a claimant to prophecy, conforming to what he has claimed, as a proof of him.
And the charism of the saints (*karāmat al-awliyāʼ*) is established, and it is the custom-breaking event that God brings forth at the hand of one outwardly righteous, righteousness being the following of the Law and the halting at its rulings and its bounds — and this contrary to the Muʻtazilah and to some of the Ashʻarīs, who maintain the denial of the charism of the saints.
