Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa
The cave-kingdom of the monkeys ruled by Vālin and later Sugrīva.
Then, his mind gladdened and his trust secured, the great ape together with Rāma went to the cave of Kiṣkindhā.
He came to the gate of Kiṣkindhā at night while the people slept, roaring with great fury, challenging Vālin to battle.
Concluding by those signs that my brother had been slain, and blocking the mouth of the cave with a rock as large as a mountain, I performed the water-rites in grief and returned to Kiṣkindhā, O friend.
