The river on whose bank Kosala and Ayodhyā are situated.
There is a great and prosperous country called Kosala, joyful and abundant, settled on the bank of the Sarayū river, rich in wealth and grain.
Then, when a full year had passed and the horse had returned, the king's sacrifice commenced on the northern bank of the Sarayū.
'Let the sacrificial ground be prepared on the northern bank of the Sarayū, and let the auspicious rites be performed according to proper procedure and rule.
