Ansāb al-ʻArab al-qudamāʼ
The rise and spread of Islam, the chronological hinge of the chapter: the point before which mother-right is alleged, after which genealogies are said to be forged, and whose first generations supply the test case of concubinage without matriliny.
so they held that it prevailed before Islam, and especially after they had read what the traveller Strabo said about marriage among the Arabs in his age, that is, about the first century before the Nativity.
Our author holds that this marriage was prevalent at the appearance of Islam, and reckons that it supports his view of mother-right;
yet he holds his view that mother-right prevailed among the Arabs before Islam and that the genealogies whose reports the Arabs hand down are fabricated.
Risālat baqāʼ al-nafs baʻda fanāʼ al-jasad
The rise of Islam in the Arabian peninsula, founded on tawhid, which inaugurates the Arab-Islamic era of the introduction's periodisation and establishes the world as wholly subject to divine power.
The Arabian peninsula shone with the light of the Arabian Prophet — God bless him and his household and give them peace — and Islam appeared, its foundation the profession of the unity of the True Originator and the declaring of Him free of every incapacity and defect.
