Magna Carta: A Commentary on the Great Charter of King John
Historian Dr. J. Horace Round, who discovered the 'unknown Charter of Liberties' for English scholarship in 1893 and proposed that it recorded a 1213 charter to the northern barons.
Horace Round in 1893.
Round, in communicating his discovery to the English Historical Review, maintained that the document was a copy, in a mangled form perhaps, of a charter actually granted in the year 1213 by King John to the northern barons, containing concessions which they had agreed to accept in satisfaction of their claims.
Round, Geoffrey, 22.
