It is heard that the great-valoured Rāvaṇa, lord of the rākṣasas, is the very brother of Vaiśravaṇa (Kubera), the son of the sage Viśravas.

Equal to Kubera in generosity, a second Dharma himself in truthfulness — him, Rāma, so endowed with virtues, of true valor,
Mighty, his enemies slain, rich in allies, his senses mastered, in his accumulations of wealth and other treasures comparable to Śakra and Vaiśravaṇa (Kubera).
