Rigveda
Sage of the Kaṇva lineage credited with kindling Agni upon the altar of ṛta.
Agni helped Mitra and also Medhyātithi;
The Agni which Medhyātithi, the Kaṇva, kindled upon the [altar of] Ṛta — his flames have shone;
You whom the gods placed here for Manu, most worthy of worship, O carrier of oblations — you whom Kaṇva, Medhyātithi, Dhanasṛt, Vṛṣā, and Upastuta [have praised].
