Śrī

"May Śrī, the lotus-born goddess of prosperity, attend upon you who speak thus — you who desire to give the earth to your elder, the king's son.

Anointed with the divine fragrant ointment, O daughter of Janaka, you will delight your husband as Śrī delights the eternal Viṣṇu.

"Blessed one, a woman never seen here before, the wife of some great soul, is crying out in distress like Śrī bewildered, her voice broken.

Dvitīyā, the *tithi* of the goddess Śrī, is remembered as the best of *tithis*.
