Rigveda
Personified divine Waters, containing ambrosia and medicine, invoked for purification and protection.
I invoke the divine waters where our cattle drink;
Within the waters is ambrosia, in the waters is medicine;
O Waters, provide medicine and protection for my body, that I may long see the sun.
Atharvaveda (Paippalāda)
The personified Waters, addressed directly as nourishing mothers and as agents of healing.
Waters, drive out the worm;
I lift up Heaven and Earth together with the plants.
O Waters, do not shake out of us our mental power, do not shake out the brahman.
