Rigveda
Poet-clan who call upon Agni and strew the sacred grass in his hymn.
The Kaṇvas, seeking your aid, who have strewn the sacred grass, bearing offerings, fully prepared — they praise you.
The Kaṇvas have called to you;
for, O Aśvins, you have ever drunk Soma joyfully in the dear assembly of the Kaṇvas.
Atharvaveda (Paippalāda)
