The common people

the common people claim "that God, exalted be He, has given the jinn and the satans and the ʻummār and the ghouls power to change into whatever form they wish — except the ghoul, for she changes into the whole form of a woman and her dress, save her two feet, which must be the feet of an ass"

The common people claim that the ghoul takes on the fairest of forms, except that her foot must be the foot of an ass;

And they mentioned that the common people claim that the split of the satan's eye runs lengthwise.

For we have sometimes seen the common people dislike in one another a departure in just such a matter as this — how much more, then, the king, who has the power and the right to employ the like of these things?

The kingdom cannot be held firm nor the subjects tended save by awe, and there is no awe of the king among the elite and the common people like the awe of justice and of an integrity untouched by the disgrace of the appetites.

It is poor economy, therefore, on the part of the common people, to attempt, by stealing their knowledge, instead of buying it, to defraud intellect of its wages.

I say the inventors, as a class, virtually offer to feed the people of England at one per centum upon existing prices, because I assume that each individual inventor asks, for his invention, not more than one per centum of the agricultural wealth it produces.

For the common people, it is in stone, in wood, and in the form of images that the Lord's authority lies.
