Bayān zaghl al-ʻilm wa-al-ṭalab
Those who pray toward the qiblah, that is professing Muslims, named as the class within which takfīr is forbidden.
And the doctrine of the People of the Sunnah is that an opponent who belongs to the people of the qiblah is not to be declared an unbeliever.
Risālat al-Wāridāt
Ahl al-qiblah, those who face the Meccan direction in prayer, whom the creed refuses to declare unbelievers, with the single exclusion of anyone who declares a forbidden act licit and thereby denies the messengership.
