Kitāb al-Zawrāʼ wa-al-taʻlīqāt ʻalayhi
The recognized bodies of opinion among whom the non-madeness of quiddities had become widely held.
it has become widely held among the schools that the quiddities are not made, so he anticipated the objection that what he has said runs counter to what is established among the philosophers, nay among rational men altogether.
Risālat al-Wāridāt
The ṭawāʼif, the doctrinal parties into which opinion divides over the fate of the rational soul after death: those who hold it never ceases governing a human body, those who hold it returns to governing plant then human life once its habitus is exhausted, the philosophers, and the Sufis.
(One party says) that the soul has no state in which it is not governing a human body, so that it does not sink from it to the animal and the plant, nor does it slacken from governance;
(Another party — and these are the philosophers) say that the soul may part from this body unto endlessness;
(Another party says) that when the body is disabled, its habitus (*malakāt*) and its apprehensions become manifest to it, and it has thereby either grief and regret or joy and exultation;
