Kitāb mīzān al-ḥaqq fī al-manṭiq
The estimative faculty, named as a powerful source of error that the truth-seeker must strip off along with convention, upbringing and habit.
And estimation has powerful workings in leading us into error;
And some of these conceptions are called (estimative, *wahmī*), such as the colours in respect of what they are in themselves, and such as the conception of existence and non-existence, of truth and of falsehood.
It is also called (imagination, *takhayyul*) or (estimation, *wahm*), according to the strength or the weakness of the conception, its soundness or its confusion with something else.
Risālat baqāʼ al-nafs baʻda fanāʼ al-jasad
