Mukhtaṣar fī ʻilm al-nafs al-insānīyah
The metaphysical pair of existence and non-existence, with darkness and light, used to state that bodily and intellectual pleasure stand in no proportion.
Therefore there is no proportion between the bodily and the intellectual pleasures except as the proportion of darkness to light, or of non-existence to existence.
