The forest Rāma enters after leaving Bharata, setting for many of his forest adventures.

But Rāma, observing the arrival of townsfolk and others to that place, single-mindedly entered the Daṇḍaka forest.

The consecration of the sandals as regent, the sojourn at Nandigrāma, the going into the Daṇḍaka forest, and the meeting with Sutīkṣṇa —

you are to enter the forest for nine years and five years — fourteen years in all.
