Letter 153
Late Antiquity Basil of Caesarea Greek- To Victor, of consular rank
As often as it falls to me to read the letters of your Decorum, so often do I give thanks to God that you continue both to remember me and to let your love be diminished by no slander — the love which once, by the most upright judgement or by a worthy custom, you consented to take up. We pray, then, to the holy God both that you may abide in the same disposition toward me, and that I may be worthy of the honour you show me through your letter.
