Letter 187
Late Antiquity Basil of Caesarea Greek- Antipater to Basil
"Cabbage twice over is death," says the spiteful proverb. But I, having asked for it many times, shall die only once — and certainly I shall die even if I do not ask for it. So, since die I must, do not shrink from eating a relish that is pleasant, and has been reviled by the proverb to no purpose.
