Pre-existence of the effect in its cause
Ancient Īśvarakṛṣṇa SanskritSK 9
Because what is non-existent cannot be made [to be]; because [for any effect] a [specific] material cause is required; because everything cannot arise from everything; because a capable [cause] produces only what is possible [to it]; and because [the effect] is of the nature of its cause — therefore the effect pre-exists [in its cause] (satkārya (the effect already real in its cause)).
