Motion / Action

karma (Motion) is of the nature of movement. Throwing upward (utkṣepaṇa) is the cause of conjunction with a higher place. Throwing downward (apakṣepaṇa) is the cause of conjunction with a lower place. Contraction (ākuñcana) is the cause of conjunction nearer to the body. Expansion (prasāraṇa) is the cause of conjunction farther [from the body]. All else is going (gamana). It resides only in the set of four beginning with earth, and in mind.
