On comprehending the expressible (ākhyeya)
Ancient Asaṅga SanskritŚag_2.1
Beings, perceiving only {{ākhyeya:the expressible|that which can be designated or named}}, rest upon this expressible; failing to fully comprehend the expressible, they come under the yoke of death.
Śag_2.2
But one who has fully comprehended the expressible does not conceive of any "namer"; for him there exists nothing whereby others might speak of him.
Śag_2.3
Whoever conceives himself "equal," "superior," or "inferior" would, on that account, contend; but one who does not waver amid this triad of measurings—for him there is neither equality nor superiority.
Śag_2.4
Having cut off craving here amid {{nāmarūpa:name-and-form|the psycho-physical complex}} and abandoned conceit, he comes to no attachment; that one—his smoke of passion stilled, untroubled, free of longing—they did not behold, neither in the world of gods nor of men, neither here nor without.
