Quelling the fever of sensual passion
Ancient Asaṅga SanskritŚag_3.1
Overpowered by sensual passion, my mind is wholly aflame; pray, Gautama, out of compassion, tell me of peace.
Śag_3.2
It is through the distortion of perceptions that your mind is aflame; therefore let the attractive sign that is conjoined with passion be shunned.
Śag_3.3
Cultivate ever the {{aśubhā(-bhāvanā):unattractive|the foulness meditation}}, one-pointed and well composed; swiftly quench the fire of passion, lest you be burned again and again.
Śag_3.4
See the conditioned {{saṃskāra:formations|conditioned, volitional constructs}} as wretched, as suffering, and likewise as not-self; setting up mindfulness directed to the body, abound in disgust [for them].
Śag_3.5
And let the {{animitta:signless|the objectless concentration that is also a gateway to liberation}} be cultivated, the destroyer of the latent tendency to conceit; then, through the full comprehension of conceit, you will make an end of suffering.
