Late Antiquity Basil of Caesarea Greek- To Aburgius.
That you flash like the stars, rising now in one part of the barbarian land, now in another — now furnishing provisions to the soldiers, now appearing before the emperor in splendid array — the report that is herald of good things does not cease to announce to us. And we pray God that, your enterprise advancing according to reason, you may come to greatness, and at last appear in your homeland. As for us, we are still above the earth, and draw in this air; for we have so much share in life as is enough only to breathe.
