    1. Without title, by way of encouragement For the honour you showed us while we were present, and for thinking us worthy to be remembered now that we are absent (for the report of it has reached us), may a recompense come to you from the good Master; and may we see you, on the great day of the righteous judgement of our God, held in good esteem for your good works, so that, just as you have been counted worthy of distinction here, so also you may enjoy honour in the presence of the King of heaven. We urge you, then, first of all to extend your unfailing zeal to the Church of God, and after that to increase your goodwill toward us as well, counting us worthy of all remembrance and protection, and to dignify us with letters; so that, having proof that we are not a burden to you when we write, we may take courage to address your magnanimity more frequently.
