    1. An admonition to the young.

Learn, you who live the solitary life and are a faithful man and a worker of piety, and be taught the evangelical way of life: the subjection of the body, a lowly mind, purity of thought, the doing away with anger. When pressed into service, add more for the Lord's sake; when robbed, do not go to law; when hated, love; when persecuted, endure; when slandered, encourage. Be made dead to sin, be crucified to God; transfer your whole care upon the Lord, that you may be found where are the tens of thousands of angels, the assemblies of the firstborn, the thrones of the apostles, the seats of honour of the prophets, the sceptres of the patriarchs, the crowns of the martyrs, the praises of the righteous. Long to be numbered with those righteous ones, in Christ Jesus our Lord. To him be the glory unto the ages. Amen.
