Letter 354
Late Antiquity Basil of Caesarea Greek- Libanius to Basil
Now I have learned that I am what I am called; for, with Basil praising me, I hold the prize of victory over all. And, having received your vote, it is now in my power to walk with a haughty step, like some braggart who looks down on everyone. Since, then, you too have laboured over a discourse against drunkenness, I should like to come upon it. But I have no wish to say anything clever about it. The speech itself, once seen, will teach me the art of speaking.
